Cookie Policy

The essentials. Necessary cookies always run. Analytics and advertising cookies fire only after you accept in the notice that appears on your first visit. Until you do, Google and Meta receive anonymous signals only — no cookies, no identifiers.
1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a site writes to your browser so it can recognise the device on later visits. Alongside them we use equivalent technologies — pixels, tags and local storage — which we call by the same name here, because they do the same job.

Analytics and performance
These help us understand how many people visit, which reviews get read to the end, and where the writing fails. Only with your consent.

Tags are loaded through Google Tag Manager, which sets no cookies itself but controls which of the tools below are activated, based on your consent.
Advertising and remarketing
These measure whether an ad led to a visit or a purchase, and allow more relevant advertising to be shown to you on other sites and social networks. Only with your consent.

Affiliate cookies, set by third parties
When you click through to a partner store, that store sets a cookie on its own domain to record that the visit came from here and to credit us the commission. That cookie is not ours, we have no access to it, and we cannot switch it off from this site — it is governed by the privacy policy of the destination site. It typically lasts between 30 and 90 days and contains neither your name nor your payment details.
3. Consent and Consent Mode
On your first visit a notice appears where you can accept everything, reject everything, or choose by category. We have implemented Google Consent Mode v2: until you decide, and whenever you reject, Google and Meta tags stay in restricted mode — they set no cookies and no identifiers, and send only aggregated, anonymous signals used for statistical estimates.
4. How to change your choice
- On this site: click Cookie preferences — it is also in the footer of every page. The change takes effect immediately.
- In your browser: Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all let you block or delete cookies in their privacy settings. Blocking the necessary ones may break parts of the site.
- On the platforms: you can turn off Google ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com, and Meta’s in your account’s ad settings.
5. Legal basis
Necessary cookies rest on the legitimate interest in keeping the site functional and secure. Everything else rests solely on your consent, under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and Article 7, I of the LGPD. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.
United States privacy statutes that give residents an opt-out of sale or sharing are served by the same notice: rejecting there prevents the identifiers being set in the first place. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.
